Mr T’s restaurant in Reading town centre given permission to stay open until 2am

Mr T’s chain eatery opened on the outside of Broad Street Mall in Oxford Road in August this year.

It is known for serving fresh, locally sourced, and made-to-order dishes, with famous guests such as Floyd Mayweather, Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder eating at other Mr T’s locations.

Months after opening, the operators of the Reading restaurant applied to keep on selling food and non-alcoholic drinks past 11pm in a premises licence application to Reading Borough Council.

The licence has since been granted according to the council’s licensing department, allowing Mr T’s to stay open until 2am from Friday to Sunday, and until midnight from Monday to Thursday.

Mr T’s has a total of nine locations according to its website, with the eatery in Reading being the chain’s first venture in the South.

According to its website, the company was launched in 2016.

The granted late-night refreshments licence allows staff to serve diners on a night out.

The chain is also halal-certified, making it friendly for Muslim customers.

Later operating hours are particularly important during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

Adherents are required to fast during daylight hours, with food and drink being permitted after sunset and before dawn.

The unit Mr T’s is situated in was previously occupied by Doner & Gyros from 2022 to this year, and China Palace, an oriental restaurant that closed down in December 2019.
