The Upper Crust café located on the bridge to the platforms is known for selling baguettes and soft drinks to customers.
However, staff at Upper Crust could soon be selling alcohol to customers as the baguette chain operators Select Service Partner Ltd has applied to sell alcohol from 6am to 11pm each day of the week.
It’s understood Upper Crust would sell beer and cider cans, alcoholic mixer cans, and small bottles of wine to those using the station.

The application to sell alcohol has been submitted to Reading Borough Council.
Anyone who wishes to comment on the application can do so by emailing licensing@reading.gov.uk, and the deadline for responses is Thursday, September 14.
If anyone makes a representation about a licensing application to the council a licensing meeting will be triggered.
Select Service Partner won permission to sell alcohol at Cafe Local between platforms 8 and 9 following a meeting back in April.
