Taco Bell opened at the Broad Street Mall in the town centre in December 2019, and has been serving up tacos, nachos, sweet treats and drinks since then.
Now, the company wants to keep on serving customers until late at night on weekends.
Taco Bell applied for late night refreshments until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays.
The chain currently closes at 11pm each night, which it would continue to do Sunday to Thursday if the application is granted.
In order for the late night sales to take place, Taco Bell requires a premises licence from Reading Borough Council.

The American chain opened in the unit previously occupied by Footlocker and the Eggla Asian food store.
At the time, Lucy Dee, marketing lead for Taco Bell UK said: “Reading has a high footfall of those looking for entertainment and of course a bite to eat, providing us with the perfect spot to expand our portfolio in the area.
“We look forward to welcoming even more Taco Bell fans and first-timers through our doors.”
