Free Lawn Bowls Taster days

26 April @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Free

Tucked away in the corner of Albert Road park in Caversham is a little gem of a club that you might not know about, offering social activities, a keenly priced bar, coffee and cakes, and the most important of all, a chance to take part in a fun and rewarding game – lawn bowls. Many people think this is a game for the older generation, but did you know that you can walk up to 3 miles in an afternoon playing bowls? But maybe it’s not just the physical activity that is the most important part of this club, it’s the improvement to your mental health, offering a chance to meet new people and to join in the social aspects. Having a club house with a bar allows us to run many different social events from quiz nights to watching the football, you can do it all here included in your membership costs, which won’t break the bank. Our membership costs are very affordable, at only £70 for new full members for the first year and trial sessions are free. If you don’t fancy playing, Social membership is available for only £10/year.  Even the equipment costs are low, with bowls provided if you don’t want to buy your own, so all you need is a pair of flat soled shoes.

Fancy coming along for a go? Come and be part of the only bowls club north of the river that has been there for more than 100 years! We have open sessions on Friday evening from 6pm, just turn up or let us know you are coming by dropping a message to Gary on 07740 731502 or email cbc-secretary@cavershambowlsclub.org.
